During the Covid-19 Lockdown period in April 2020, Lotus Capital partnered with Give Food Stamps Ltd to provide food to over 50,000 people in a programme named the Lotus Covid-19 Food drive.
The Lotus Covid-19 Food drive aimed to feed up to 50,000 people who depended on a daily income to survive. Most people in this category had lost their livelihood due to the lockdown imposed by the Lagos State government to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The Food Drive not only provided daily feeding to people in this category, but it supported local food businesses as local food vendors fondly known as mama put who had lost income due to the lockdown were employed to cook for the feeding programme.
The Lotus Covid-19 Food Drive lasted for a month, and in the period over 50,000 people were fed daily with about raised N17m for the campaign.
